IFF: Intro to Fighter Fundamentals |
Home Plate | Should you happen to be one of the top 10% of your UPT class you may be so fortunate as to get assigned to a fighter aircraft (F-16, F-15C, F-15E, F-22, A-10C) after your year in SUPT. Before going through training for your fighter, you will need to complete IFF. IFF is about 7 weeks long, with about 20 flights, and consists of the basics of being a wingman in the combat air force (CAF). For this training you will fly an AT-38C, which is basically a T-38C with different paint and more over-gs than anyone can count. The wash out rate for IFF is generally higher than UPT. So work hard, remember most of what they taught you in SUPT, and don't do anything stupid. Lesson here is: If you think you are too good to study you won't make it.
